This Concorde style cartridge suits s-shaped tonearms with traditional bayonet (SME) style connectors, like the ones found on many removable headshells. Easy installation with no need to screw it to a headshell like the 2M series cartridge. No alignment needed. But further to this it performs better than the normal 2M Blue cartridge, because all Concorde Music cartridges are the same, regardless of the colour stylus that they are initially supplied with. They use split pole pins and silver plated copper wiring improving internal electrical resistance and greater clarity. This technology is only found in the 2M Bronze and 2M Black cartridges NOT the 2M Red and Blue. It also means that you can upgrade the stylus to the Bronze or Black variant without changing the Concorde Music cartridge. So, in summary it does cost more than the 2M Blue but you do not have the cost of a headshell, it performs better and has an easy upgrade pathway.
